Description

This Latin inspired piece opens with a familiar rhythmic groove played on the piano. The tune relies on a smooth melodic line, with a supportive backing from the rest of the ensemble.  An improv section affords the band  the chance to cut loose and reach for their inner ‘Santana’ groove.  For those less comfortable with improvising there are two different written out solos.

There is an additional tenor part that is the same as the baritone sax part. This is intended for those groups who aren’t lucky enough to have a baritone player.

New Feature: ‘Saxophones Only’ rehearsal score in addition to Conductor Score

Optional Soprano and Bass Saxophone Parts included.

Instrumentation  AAAAT(T)B +rhythm section (a rhythm section audio download is also available).

“Otra Danza?” is written for mixed ensemble, approximately grade 3 – 5/6  but of course the improve section can include players of any level.

  1. Richard Ingham

Otra Danza?, On It! and Yin Yang Blues are all superb. They feature attractive catchy melodies, very classy rhythm section (or just piano) writing, top grooves along with improvisation options and ideas. Rob demonstrates extensive professional musical and educational experience here. A winning series!
