Product FAQs
How do I know if a product is right for me, my pupils or my group?
Good question. We have tried to provide as much information as possible next to the product (length, approximate standard, instrumentation etc.). There is also an extract of the score for you to check and a sample audio track (of course nothing will imitate a live performance!) All of these pieces have been tried and tested with a wide variety of players and we pride ourselves at knowing this music inside out. Please do get in touch if you would like to know more about the music and whether or not it is appropriate for you.
What level are the pieces?
Next to each product we have listed an approximate grade level. This is based on UK Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music/ Trinity College of Music.
Can I perform these pieces in public?
Of course!
Can I post a performance of one of these pieces on social media / the internet?
We love when our music is out there but please ask permission before sharing a performance online. If permission is given then we may use it on our website or for publicity. Please make sure that you credit both Groovy Rascal and the composer in all performances.
Can I adapt or rearrange the parts?
No, sorry this is illegal. As Groovy Rascal holds the copyright for all its music, please contact us and we can help you with additional or adapted parts for the appropriate fee.
Can I photocopy the parts?
If you have a large group with several players on each part then it is ok to photocopy additional parts for rehearsal and a one off concert. You should collect all copied parts in afterwards and destroy them. The parts may not be shared with anyone else.
Can I share a PDF?
No. It is illegal to copy/share PDFs of our music, print multiple copies of a solo part for students to use, print and/or share pages with other people, put the score and/or parts of a piece online/ on a cloud system for use by either a restricted or unrestricted audience or to share your PDFs with another group.

Backing Track FAQs
What format does the backing track come in?
All backing tracks are supplied in Mp3 format.
I have ordered a score & parts but now also would like a backing track – what should I do?
When you purchase a solo piece you are supplied with a free audio of the piano accompaniment as well as the accompaniment with instrument guide. Rhythm section download tracks are available to purchase for all ensemble pieces. They are available from the drop down menu next to the piece.
Can I use the backing track in a performance?
Absolutely. Not every band has the luxury of a rhythm section so the tracks can really help to boost your performance. Please contact us directly if you would like an audio download of a bespoke rhythm section (eg. perhaps you have a great drummer but no bass player. groovy-rascal can provide a track without drums). Let us know your needs and we can quote for your needs.
I would like a backing track with a slower tempo for rehearsals, can you help me?
We’d be happy to make a bespoke track for you. Please contact us for details.
I’d like to include more soloists in my performance but the backing track would be too short. How can I get around this?
No problem, drop us a line with your request and we will be happy to provide a backing track to accommodate your performance. There will be a small charge for this.
